hi there!
when you spend more time on your wedding day with your photographer than some of your guests, you really want to make sure you know them and the chemistry between you is just right!

so, hello, i'm rachel!
i love love love weddings! i still can't really believe that i get to go to them as my job!

come in and get to know me better!

i have always been a creative person, and could often be found making things and putting on silly plays when I was younger!
i constantly had a disposable camera on the go (yes, i'm showing my age!) and i was always picking up my dad’s video camera. his influence led me to take photography a-level and then a film & media studies degree
we teamed up for a couple of years doing wedding videography, but when it was my time to go solo, i couldn’t resist the call for wedding photography!
being able to combine my love of weddings with my passion for photography was like a dream come true!
after uni, i briefly pursued a career in editing film and tv, working for a few years in soho, london which is where i met my lovely husband, tom

then i started my career as a teacher, eventually making it to assistant principal. twelve years of that was quite enough, thank you very much, and i finally escaped to follow my dream of being a wedding photographer

you'll definitely spot the teacher in me when i'm organising your day and using my big scary teacher voice to wrangle people in for group photos (ok, it's not that scary!)

when i first started out as a wedding photographer in 2018, my approach was a very candid documentary style

although i still have elements of that in my work now, i felt that solely concentrating on it didn't afford me the freedom to be creative

your day is more to you than just a wedding, and your photos should reflect that, to be
more than just photos
why did i choose
editorial wedding photography?

being artistic with photography gives photos a whole new layer
it's more than frozen moments in time, it's the ability to tell the story of the day, and relive every love-filled inch of your wedding as if you've been transported back in time

it celebrates perfect imperfections, genuine emotions and the art of love
it probably comes as no surprise that tom and i love to watch movies! we have quite different tastes but fortunately there's enough cross-over!
i think having a love of film has really influenced my photography style, which echoes 35mm film and has an artistic edge

i love to read. i'm a big harry potter fan but my favourite book is 'a christmas carol' which i read every year!

whether it's watching or reading, our two cats, poppy and beany, can always be found on our laps. i just wish we could take them to the pub!
