why have an
engagement shoot?
there are so many reasons for why having an engagement shoot is a brilliant idea, but first let's clarify... it is not a photo shoot of you getting engaged (although this can be done!) no, it's a photo shoot that takes place in your engagement era!

first and foremost, the biggest reason is because of you, me and the camera. i've no doubt that at least one of you is nervous about having your photo taken on your wedding day, so an engagement shoot is a great way to get in some practice and get an idea of what to expect on the big day. it also means we get to know each other better so we'll be best of friends come the wedding!
another reason is the flexibility of the location. we can go wherever you like (within reason!!)
perhaps you have a favourite spot that means a lot to you, or maybe you're getting married in the countryside and want some city photos

it's also a great way to include hobbies and pets. let's go for a woodland walk with your dog, or grab your surf board and hit the beach! or maybe you'd just like some in your own house and back garden!

there's so much you can do with your photographs too: use them for save-the-dates or invitations, display them on your wedding website, scatter them across your wedding venue or use in a bespoke guest book!
FAQs
how many photographs do we get?
when choosing a wedding photographer, it should definitely be quality over quantity. a thousand photographs are useless if the images don't resonate with you. rest assured you will have more than enough and that you'll struggle to choose which ones to put in your album!

do we get to see the photo albums before they go to print?
of course! i will email you a preview and then make any changes needed until you are 100% happy with the design

are you insured?
absolutely. i have professional indemnity to £500,000 and public liability to £5m which are industry-standard amounts

what about your travel, accommodation and food?
travel within mainland uk is included for free. if you are two hours away from where i'm based in kent, there will be a one-night accommodation cost of £150. if you are three+ hours away, there is a two-night cost totalling £300. if you're outside mainland uk, travel and accommodation costs will vary but this is something we can look at together. i don't need a first class flight and a five star hotel (unless you insist...!)
when it comes to food, i would like to be fed but again, it doesn't need to be anything fancy or even the same as the guests are having. many venues and caterers offer vendor meals. you certainly don't have to sit me with your guests!
